Did you know that sunshine or a trip to the beach can cause damage to your jewellery?
We’ve put together a quick guide to taking care of your jewellery during the hotter months.
Your jewellery is the perfect accessory for your summer outfit. The sparkling sunshine reflecting beautifully on the shiny metals and gems. Accentuating your tan and beachy waves. But did you know that the sun, seawater, sun cream, sweat and chlorine in the water can cause damage to your jewellery and leave it looking so dull?
Jewellery responds to what it is exposed to, including perfume and body oils. Silver jewellery in particular can become matt and lose its natural shine.
We’ve put together a few tips to help extend the life of your jewellery.
Sterling silver jewellery can be washed in warm water with a mild detergent and dried with a soft lint free or non-abrasive cloth. Please don’t use a kitchen paper towel as this can scratch the soft silver.
Sterling Silver loves a cool, dark and moisture free place to live. So an airtight jewellery box, or plastic bags while you are travelling, are the perfect storage solution.
Gold plated jewellery should be cleaned after every use to remove any oils or dirt and dust. Gently rubbing the jewellery with a soft cloth or cotton ball will restore the shine. Again, store in an airtight jewellery box or plastic bags while you are travelling.
